Come join GenNext Kamloops for a Christmas Social / Wrap-up event. Wendy Gruneberg, from the Children Who Witness Abuse (CWWA) program, will be speaking about how GenNext fundraising has benefited youth in our community through their program. We will also be collecting food donations and art supplies for the CWWA program and decorating a Christmas Tree at Brendan's office. So come out for a fun evening of Christmas Cheer and support important community projects at the same time!
Useful foodstuff for our children would be peanut butter, strawberry jam, food gift cards (so we can buy cold meat, cheese, salad and yogurt), margarine, mustard, tomato sauce, mayonnaise, granola bars (some without nuts would be useful), goldfish are popular, Tim Horton cards for the odd treat of timbits, Gift cards for pizza places (always a big hit!)
Our children enjoy what they call fancy sandwiches which have cold meat cheese and lettuce and mayo and mustard on them as is a luxury for most of them, but by offering this we are able to offer them some dairy and protein.
Art supplies to use in counselling sessions as well as stationary sets offering pencil crayons, gel pens, pencil sharpeners, erasers, crayons, lined journal books, unlined drawing books to give to the children to take home. (we do have a lot of construction paper and do not need more of that at this time), canvases all sizes and thickness, Michaels, Walmart and Dollarama (or other Dollar store) gift cards so we can buy art supplies.
